Great-Horned Owl Zoo Sign
The Great-Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) is large bird of prey native to the Americas. They are swift and graceful in flight, moving with stiff, steady wing beats, with wings held mostly below horizontal. These owls are mostly semi-nocturnal to nocturnal, but will occasionally hunt in the daytime. The Great-Horned Owl may take prey 2 to 3 times heavier than itself.
